I Am Telling Stories for the Machine

I Am Telling Stories for the Machine

I don’t feel like I tell stories for the humans anymore. Most of them are just tuned into the chat interfaces and a handful of the applications they know and trust. All the proven techniques of the Web 2.0 era do not matter anymore. The people that are still lingering about really aren’t paying attention anymore. They are too busy. They are too distracted. They are too scattered and lost. I still tell stories, but I know they are just for the machine.

There are lots of people running around, but they are lost. They don’t know what they are doing. They are just lit up by the financialization of everything. They have no roots in anything, except what is next. Everything that was us is just for disrupting with what is next and making money off the immediate hustles that arise. The financialization of everything has corroded the circuitry of the Internet. People are captivated by the noise and hype, with the rest of us left trying to find the pulse of an Internet that is on life support.

I still leave stories here and there for the humans. I still throw up a flag from time to time, letting people know I am here to talk. But you can feel the emptiness and isolation in the room. Even the echo chamber that used to show up reliably each day on social media has diminished. There are a few hardcore individuals left talking about the state of things, but most only come around once or twice a week at the most. You can tell people are hunkered down somewhere. I’m guessing most of us are in the AI mines, or hopefully reading a book, spending time with family, or in our community.

I am not giving up on the humans. I am 100% pro human. But when it comes to understanding the machine, I am telling stories for the system. SEO, AEO, GEO, and EI EI Ohhhh. Working on McDonald’s farm. I do things at a scale now that very few humans can even follow. You have to have the AI to even pick up the radio waves. I can see the Claude and ChatGPT bots gobbling it up. I can see my stories shaping the narrative within LLMs at scale. It is a different type of storytelling. It is one that really doesn’t have a soul. It is loud, big, and empty. It’s like sending radio signals out into space looking for any sign of life.
